Beschreibung

The first 911 GT2, introduced as the 993, was a true homologation special that went head-to-head with the legendary Ferrari F40. Fast forward to January 2001, when the 996 GT2 made its international debut at the Detroit Motor Show, with customer deliveries following that summer. This version combined the GT3's razor-sharp performance features with the reinforced Turbo body and Porsche's most potent turbocharged engine to date. Its stripped-back, GT3-style interior, rear-wheel-drive setup, and absence of traction control or stability management made the GT2 a raw and unfiltered driving experience. Porsche Motorsport, the masterminds behind the GT models, redefined the GT2 as a track-oriented road car, but don't mistake that for a loss of edge. The formula remained uncompromising, with 462 horsepower—though modest by today's standards—still delivering the unmistakable punch of Porsche performance. In the world of Stuttgart’s finest, those 462 horses always had a little more bite than the numbers suggested. The 996 GT2, in all its glory, became the fastest and most expensive 911 at the time, and it retained the fear factor that made it a true Porsche icon.

Our 2001 Porsche 996 GT2 is one of just 963 examples produced between 2001 and 2004 and was delivered new in its home country through Porsche Zentrum Lübeck to its proud first owner. This car, built under Manufactured under the Porsche Exclusive Program, was carefully specified by its original owner in the iconic L92U Arctic Silver, complemented by a Full Black Leather interior. The interior features a beautiful combination of Arctic Grey accents, including the center panel insert, lower instrument visor, dashboard trim band, and aluminum dials. The result is a beautifully cohesive design that perfectly matches the car’s striking exterior.

Nowadays, given the very low production numbers, it is hard to find a 996 GT2, let alone in good condition and low mileage. Of course, many of these cars were used for what they were made for under the motto, drive it like you stole it! This car, however, is an entirely different story. Currently, the car has only 69,000 kilometers and judging from the maintenance booklet provided, this car was always neatly and regularly serviced. The current condition of the car therefore speaks volumes. A real enthusiast's car that looks fantastic! The leather black interior, which by the way is a lot more comfortable than the club sports seats, looks very good and is free of scuffs and scratches. But, a certainly not unimportant one, the car is also immaculate engine-wise. The engine awakens in no time and runs just perfectly. While driving, you immediately notice that this is a real GT2 in its purest form. No noises from the suspension or doors while driving, the clutch grips like a beast and simply an insane form of power when the car revs up. This is why today it is a thoroughly useable, modern-classic that savvy collectors should keep an eye on.

This is one of the indisputable poster cars that are becoming more popular by the day! Once a childhood dream, now it might soon be in your garage. Come and discover it soon at Rock ‘N Roll Classics.
