The Arnage’s second owner bought the car when it was a year old and ran it as a company car for a while and ended up enjoying it so much, he transferred it into his name and owned it for a decade in all.

The current owner knew him and the car through the Ireland section of the Rolls-Royce and Bentley Enthusiasts’ Club (the second owner is the chair) and jumped at the chance to buy it.

We can see why. 

Still showing just 88,000 miles ‘RX54 XHJ’ is a 2005-facelift model finished in Silver Tempest with a diamond fluted Beluga hide interior with dark burr walnut veneer, and engine-turned aluminium dashboard and door cappings – and those are only the headlines because the full spec sheet runs to four pages…

While he’s thoroughly enjoyed his nine years with the Arnage (“I love the shorter chassis as it’s much sportier”) he’s recently bought a newer Mulsanne, and, contrary to the more usual ‘two-in-and-one-out rule’ he’s offering this and his Jaguar for auction in an attempt to thin his eleven-strong collection.
