The Alpine A110, introduced in 1961, is a revered icon in the world of motorsport and automotive design. Born from the creative vision of Jean Redele, the A110 was crafted for both road and rally racing, quickly establishing a reputation for its agility and lightweight construction. Weighing around 700 kg, the A110 featured a fibreglass body and a mid-engine layout, which contributed to its exceptional handling and balance. Powered by a range of four-cylinder engines, the A110 showcased impressive performance, especially in its rally variants, achieving numerous victories in events like the Monte Carlo Rally during the 1970s. Its distinctive styling, characterized by round headlights and a curvaceous silhouette, has made it a timeless classic. The A110's blend of performance, innovation, and elegance has endeared it to enthusiasts worldwide, solidifying its status as a pioneering machine that embodies the spirit of motorsport and the allure of French automotive excellence.

The car we have here is a Dieppe built A110 and is presented in absolutely exceptional condition. It is powered by a highly desirable and freshly rebuilt Salv Sacco 1255cc Gordini unit, breathing through Italian Weber 40DCOEs and mated to a five-speed gearbox. This, combined with its circa 700kg mass, gives spectacular performance delivered with a fizz and vigour you cannot get with a modern sports car. Our vendor purchased this car fresh from a very in-depth restoration, then set about making it as 'turn-key' as he could and the car is now ready to be enjoyed as intended. The car has been fitted with many choice period modifications and rare components, to enhance the car: an alloy front mounted radiator with electric fan, Cibie super Oscars, a Pierre Ferry high volume sump, Momo Indy wheel, rear roll bar…the list goes on. It's now been subject to a comprehensive 500 mile shakedown and development and is ready to go for the next custodian. This Alpine was first registered in the UK in August 1997, with its final MOT being carried out in 1999, it would then lay dormant in a barn for over 20 years, before being discovered by the previous owner, who also owned an ex works A110 and he decided to completely restore the car. Various old Certificat d'Assurance are included in the history file, showing that the car was wearing the registration 6114 TJ 95 whilst in France.

The car is very hard to fault, viewing would be highly recommended to fully appreciate its condition. Our vendor has enjoyed this Alpine throughout the summer and has decided to offer the Alpine for sale, whilst it is in its best condition. The car is supplied to auction with a V5C registration certificate, old French Certificat d'Assurance, various bills for works carried out and other sundry invoices. Consigned by Fraser Smith
