Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

General questions about Classic Trader

  • What is Classic Trader?

Classic Trader is the international marketplace for classic vehicles. Classic Trader enables private and commercial sellers to present classic vehicles of all kinds in a specialised market environment or to offer them in an online auction. Potential buyers have access to an almost unlimited number of large, high-resolution images and videos. Detailed, standardised technical information supplements the vehicle advertisements. The placement of information and documents on the history, condition and maintenance intervals saves sellers the odd unwanted contact with uninformed prospective buyers. The marketplace and online auction model is continuously being expanded to include purchase and sales-related services, such as the in-house warranty and repair cost insurance for classic and modern classics, CT Warranty. This also includes the digital appraisal standard CT Inspections, which enables a detailed pre-purchase appraisal of vehicles as well as a condition and value assessment for the insurance industry. Classic Trader sets standards and offers an unrivalled platform for classic car enthusiasts.

  • What can I do here?

    • As a seller, you can offer your classic vehicle, your sports car or your ‘classic of the future’ for sale or at auction in a specialised market environment.
    • As a potential buyer, you can find your dream classic quickly and easily or simply start dreaming a little while browsing through vehicle adverts.
    • As a user with no direct interest in buying, you can surf freely on Classic Trader and browse through vehicle adverts with large pictures, precise technical data and other background information, just like in a magazine.

  • Do I have to register?

Registration with Classic Trader is only required to use the following functions:

    • Selling (incl. advert management)
    • Message centre (incl. notifications on and offsite)
    • Bookmark
    • Watchlist (incl. notifications on and offsite)

  • I don't have an account yet. How can I register?

You can easily register on the Classic Trader homepage. Simply click on the ‘Log in’ button and follow the instructions. Registration with Classic Trader is divided into three different user groups:

    • Basic account: Registration by entering your first and last name, an e-mail address and a password. It is primarily aimed at those looking to be informed about new offers.
    • Private account: With this account you can offer your vehicles as a private seller. It is necessary to provide further information required for the sale, such as a postal address.
    • Dealer account: This account is aimed at sellers who trade in vehicles commercially. Further information required for commercial trading is also necessary.
  • I have forgotten my password. What do I do now?

    • If you have forgotten your password, please enter your e-mail address in the login screen and click on the ‘Forgot password’ button. Enter your e-mail address on the following page ‘Reset password’ and click on the ‘Reset password’ button. You will then receive an e-mail from Classic Trader with a confirmation link to reset your password. After clicking on the confirmation link, you can create a new password on Classic Trader.
  • How can I change the e-mail address that I have saved in my account?

    • You can change your e-mail address by clicking on the ‘Change e-mail address’ button in your account details and simply entering your new e-mail address on the following page. Confirm your entry by clicking on the ‘Save’ button. A confirmation link will now be sent to your new e-mail address, which you should also confirm by clicking on the URL. • Can I change my account type at a later date?
