This is an exceptional value MG TD/C Competition MKII that has had a huge level of expenditure taking it to an outstanding specification. In the region of £24000 has been spent in recent years and the spec includes a 1350cc chemically cleaned fully rebuilt engine to Peter Edney fast road specification with lightened and balanced alloy pistons, lightened and balanced flywheel, rear main oil seal conversion and front oil lip seal conversion. The MG also features further upgrades to include a Type 9, 5 speed gearbox, uprated and balanced clutch, manual electric fan, high torque starter motor, 12V charger, LED side, turn and stop lights, Brookland steering wheel, twin period fog lights and Evans waterless coolant.

Our MG has been recently with a long term regular customer in Essex, and prior to that on Jersey with a customer who had the expensive upgrade work carried out to ensure the car was capable of European touring and being a LHD example, it is certainly well suited for this. Further to the upgrades, thousands of pounds worth of invoices are on file for maintenance and general upkeep, and a fully strip down and re-paint in 2019. Wheels were also stripped and powder coated and fitted with brand new tyres. The result of the serious expenditure over the past few years is a beautifully presented, exceptional driving car that has been significantly enhanced for drivability, usability and reliability.

On the road the TD is superb to drive, the 1350cc engine feels fantastic and having been completed in early 2023, the engine is incredibly fit and still fresh from rebuild. The five speed gearbox is a delight to use, the car is quite simply superb to drive in every respect. The bodywork is of a very high standard, the paintwork very well presented and the brightwork impressive throughout. The upholstery is lovely, and the MG also comes with full weather equipment. The chassis and underbody are excellent, and without doubt this very sensibly priced MG TD will prove a fantastic purchase.
A large, comprehensive history file accompanies the car with a photo record of the engine rebuild and strip down and re-paint. The invoice file is impressive, there is lots of information on the cars upgrades and also some MG TD performance data and articles such as an Autosport road test report. There are so many selling points with this MG, the specification and expenditure makes a huge difference to its desirability but this is also the highly sought after Competition model finished in a wonderful colour combination.
