Unveiled at the 1964 Paris Motor Show, the 275 GTB featured an enlarged 3.3L Colombo V-12 and Pininfarina coachwork constructed by Scaglietti, with styling cues from the noble bloodline stretching from the 250 GT Europa to the 250 GTO.
As firsts on Ferrari production touring cars, the 275 GTB featured independent rear suspension and a rear-mounted five-speed gearbox. Having wrung the last measure of development from the live axle GTO, the next generation road car benefited from chassis development by Englishman Mike Parkes, recommended to Ferrari by Colonel Ronnie Hoare of Maranello Concessionaires.
This exceptional short nose 275 GTB was completed by the factory on March 11th 1965 and delivered new to retailer J.H. Keller of Zurich, specified in gorgeous Celeste over Nero Connolly leather, and shod with Campagnolo alloy rims. Sold to the first private owner in Zurich, she was purchased in 1974 by Peter Klein proprietor of a roofing and tiling business in Blumenthal Germany. Klein had previously owned a 275 GTB/4, chassis #10115 which he sold in 1969, and clearly regretted his decision, enjoying 07037 for a number of years. By the time he came to sell in 1977, 07037 was advertised in issues 14 and 17 of Auto, Motor & Sport having done 65,000 km.
In 1978 07037 was sold to Rolf Schafer of Cologne and fitted with a long nose front clip and was seen at the 1989 Ferrari Club Meeting at the AvD-Oldtimer Grand Prix at the Nürburgring and at the Essen Motor show later that year. By 2004, 07037 was in the collection of avid historic rally participant Jean-Jacques Gaasch of Luxembourg who commissioned a restoration and return to short nose specification by Carrozzeria Atuo Sport of Modena. Once complete, Gaasch and 07037 completed the Tour Auto and Modena Cento Ore in 2007, the Tour Auto in 2008 and 2009, the Zoute GP in 2011, and the Tour Auto and Spa-Francorchamps Rally Meeting in 2012.
Passing from one dedicated driver to the next, Eric Everard purchased 07037 in 2013 taking delivery during a track day at Spa where it competed 2 months later at the Spa Classic and came 5th in the second race. Everard and 07037 competed at the 10,000 Tours du Castellet in 2013, the Tour Auto and Spa Classic 2014, and finally the Tour Auto in 2017.
Now benefitting from a three-year body off restoration by Roelofs Engineering, Lupi, Scartapatti and Bertacchi completed in 2023 with supporting photographs and invoices, the accompanying Ferrari Classiche Red Book certifies its matching numbers for all major components.
This superb 275 GTB is presented in outstanding condition, freshly restored in its gorgeous original colour. An exceptional driving machine, it would be suitable for appearances at the best events, or indeed for use on the open roads.
