Beschreibung

The 1977 Porsche 911S Targa is a classic example of Porsche’s early evolution of the 911, blending performance with open-air driving.

The early, narrow chassis 911 G models introduced for 1974 and last produced in 1977 are very similar to the original 911 F model but differentiate themselves by having an upgraded, more luxurious interior and revised bumpers to meet safety regulations of the time, all while maintaining Porsche’s signature styling.

Powered by a 2.7L flat-six engine producing 165 hp, the 911S delivered a 0-60 mph time of around 7.5 seconds and a top speed of 137 mph. The racing back ground of Porsche cannot be denied. A Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection system improves efficiency and drivability, while a five-speed manual transmission ensures engaging performance. The 915 gearbox works seamlessly and feels like a gearbox much younger.

This particular 911S Targa is finished in the outstanding delivery colour of Platinum Metallic over black leather. A combination that feels perfectly at home with the signature Targa B-pillar covered in contrasting brushed steel. The lightweight Targa roof ads versatility, offering both open-top cruising and coupe-like rigidity.

Exactly as it was delivered from the factory in October 1976, this Porsche 911S has confirmed matching numbers for engine and chassis as specified in the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.

In current ownership since 2018, the 911S was purchased in the present condition via Automobile Grohmann in Germany and today remains in beautiful, near mint condition.

As part of the sale in 2018 the car was re-sprayed in the original colour Platinum Metallic. At the same time, the engine and gearbox were overhauled and the interior received some work, most notably the front seats that were profesionally re-upholstered in the original black perforated leather.

A full evaluation report following the work in 2018 is available and shows the Porsche with 126.000 Miles on the clock.

Not one to rest on his laurels, the owner treated the Porsche to a full engine rebuild in the winter of 2024/25 with Porsche workshop Halle 49 in Germany. The Porsche is now guaranteed to give the same driving pleasure for many years to come, as it did when new. An invoice for the complete engine rebuild (at considerable cost) including two new Koni shock absorbers come with the car and can be forwarded on request. The Targa foldable roof was also refurbished. The complete mileage of the Porsche is now just 129.000 Miles.

This Porche 911S Targa is truly on the button and cannot be faulted in any way. With its balanced handling, timeless design, and mechanical reliability, this 1977 911S Targa remains a sought-after classic among Porsche enthusiasts wishing to experience open top driving at its very best. In other words, a perfect, fully sorted Porsche 911S for immediate pleasure on the road.

Registered on current Danish (EU) registration documents, the Porsche can be registered in any EU country without import tax.
