NOTE

Jaguar XK 150 Drop Head Coupe 1958

This 1958 Jaguar XK 150 Drop Head Coupe was first registered in England on August 15, 1958.

Originally equipped with an automatic transmission and right-hand drive, it was later fitted with a manual XK gearbox with overdrive.

In 1985, the car was imported into Italy, where it was converted to left-hand drive.

The conversion process for this model is quite straightforward, as the car was designed by the factory to be adaptable for both configurations.

The central instrumentation allows for an uncomplicated modification of the electrical system, and the rack-and-pinion steering box can be easily rotated to switch from one side to the other.

The only adjustment required was to modify the two glove compartments, which are symmetrical.

After a few changes of ownership, the car was acquired by a collector in 1990, who kept it for 34 years.

In 2012, with a desire to enhance its performance, the owner installed a 4.2-liter engine.

Numerous invoices document the extensive work carried out on the car over the years.

In particular, recent invoices from 2022 and 2023 indicate the following major work in addition to minor repairs:

  • Complete overhaul of the braking system, including the replacement of the brake pump, brake lines, pads, and a full revision of the calipers with cylinder replacement

  • Full replacement of the clutch assembly, including the pressure plate, disc, bearing, clutch pump, and slave cylinder

  • Carburetor overhaul with original kit

  • Replacement of shock absorbers

Additionally, the following recent perfection work has just been completed:

  • Installation of four Michelin tires

  • Suspension and height adjustment

  • Fuel tank restoration with replacement of the float and instrument overhaul

  • Repair of the automatic starter and bulb replacement

  • Installation of the original brake booster to increase the power of the disc brakes

  • Full service, including replacement of hoses, filters, and oils for the engine, transmission, differential, and brakes

  • Dismantling and reassembly of the gearbox with repairs to the gear selector, springs, and retaining balls

  • Chrome treatment of the front bumper and wheel spats

  • Complete stainless steel exhaust system by “BELL”

  • Overhaul and reorganization of the dashboard electrical system

  • Cleaning and overhaul of instruments

  • Repair of the tachometer

  • Repair of the original clock

  • Underside cleaning, wheel arches, and spare tire compartment with repainting in the original red color

  • Polishing and touch-ups on the bodywork

  • Numerous other minor tuning interventions, as evidenced by invoices and photographic documentation of the work.

ALL WORK DONE IS DOCUMENTED WITH INVOICES AND BILLS AMOUNTING TO A TOTAL OF NEARLY 20,000 EUROS.

The paintwork, although applied in the 1980s, has no significant defects.

The body and underside are in excellent condition, clean, and rust-free.

The interior has been recently reupholstered using a kit produced in England, conforming to original specifications.

The car has been regularly subjected to the mandatory biennial technical inspections, and in the last six years, it has covered only a few hundred kilometers.

Considering the extensive improvement works just completed for nearly 20,000 euros, the modest price of this vehicle offers a rare and unique opportunity for a collector to acquire a prestigious car that is ready to be driven with great satisfaction.

Furthermore, the significant difference between the asking price and the current market value of these models provides an ample margin for future restoration to original specifications.
