1968 | FIAT Dino Spider

This 1968 Fiat Dino Spider, refinished in his original color. Power comes from a 2.0-liter V6 paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a black soft top, black upholstery, triple Weber carburetors, 14″ Cromodora wheels, Sparco harnesses, a MOMO steering wheel, and a Becker Mexico AM/FM radio. A service performed in May 2022 reportedly included the installation of new wheel and steering column bearings as well as an oil change and the addition of fresh brake fluid.

Unlike its Bertone-designed coupe counterpart, the Dino Spider was designed by Filippo Sapino at Pininfarina and debuted at the Turin Motor Show in October 1966. This example was stripped and refinished in red in 2020. Features include chrome bumpers and side trim, a power antenna, a driver-side mirror, clear side marker lenses, and quad headlights and taillights. The black convertible top can be seen raised in the gallery below along with pitted and flaking brightwork.

The silver 14″ Cromodora wheels feature knock-off hubs and are mounted with 205/70 Goodyear Eagle NCT70 tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes. New wheel bearings were installed and fresh brake fluid was added in May 2022.

The cabin features front bucket seats that are trimmed in black vinyl with cloth inserts. Features include red Sparco harnesses, wood dash trim, a Becker Mexico AM/FM radio, an analog clock, an ashtray, and crank windows. There is a crack in the dashpad, the heater controls are bent, and the radio is missing three buttons.

The leather-wrapped MOMO steering wheel features a Fiat-branded horn button and frames Veglia Borletti instrumentation including a 250-km/h speedometer, a 9k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. Replacement steering column bearings were installed in May 2022. The five-digit odometer shows under 15k kilometers (~9k miles). Total mileage is unknown.

The Ferrari-designed aluminum 2.0-liter Dino V6 features quad chain-driven overhead camshafts, a Magneti Marelli, and triple Weber downdraft carburetors. An oil change was performed in May 2022.
