Beschreibung

1940 Daimler EL24 Limousine
Registration No: EWK 959
Chassis No: 48053
A really fine car that has had major works done to it: It presents beautifully & is in very very good running condition. The current owner has spent considerable sums to put the car in first rate order. Works include the follwing:
New ash frame to the rear with metalwork refurbished as required
Completely re-painted
Road wheels and trims re-painted
New Dunlop tyres, tubes and bands Retrimmed to rear, new headlining and carpets
All re-wired, new tail lamps, side lamps, dynamo and starter re-built
New battery
Front suspension - new road springs, suspension bushes replaced
Front wheel bearings and seals replaced
Steering - new king pins and bushes, steering box rebuilt
Brakes - new brake linings throughout (brake drums powder coated) new seals in vacuum tank and new hoses
Engine - cylinder head has been re-welded, re-faced, new valves and guides Sump has been removed and crank shaft checked - all excellent condition New stainless steel exhaust manifold, and stainless steel exhause system Carburetta re-built, new electric dual petrol pump
Radiator re-cored
Kenlowe fan fitted
Extensively restored by its previous keeper of thirty-three years, the Daimler has been treated to a new ash frame, respray, rewiring and much re-chroming not to mention the installation of a new electric fuel pump and stainless-steel exhaust. Further benefiting from attention to its carburettor, steering box, dynamo, starter motor, suspension and brakes, the EL24 sports Black leather up front and a Grey cloth re-trimmed rear upholstery which also boasts a sliding division and occasional seats.
The 3.3 litre six cylinder engine runs beautifully & is very quiet devloping some 75 BHP at a low 3600RPM; enough to propel the car at 70MPH motorway speeds. The Wilson pre-selector transmission is smooth & very easy to use. Attention has also been given to electrical equipment, interior trim, bodywork and paintwork. EWK 959 is accompanied by details of the aforementioned restoration and a collection of old MOTs etc.
The car starts readily from cold even when not having been run for some considerable time & is uncannily smooth in operation. Viewings are in North London not far off the M25 Motorway.
