The 1930 Alvis brochure read as follows:
Produced to conform with the ideal of the man who insists on speed, the amazing new " Silver Eagle" Sports Four Seater also meets the most exacting requirements of those who demand luxury. The new low chassis has allowed the bodybuilder full scope in emphasizing the sporting appeal, whilst the generous seating capacity of the car ensures the maximum comfort for the occupants during the longest journeys. Every point of design has been studied with the greatest care in order that each component will blend to create elegance of appearance that is so essentially an Alvis characteristic. As an instance of this regard for detail, the re-designed hood affords a notable instance, being neat and compact when out of use and when erected, a graceful complement to the general sporting lines. The side screens are housed in a separate compartment when not in use. The interior equipment includes adjustable front seats, which are of the bucket type, whilst an air cushion seat is fitted at the rear, and it will at once be appreciated that in conjunction with the excellent springing arrangements of the new chassis, riding comfort is greater than ever. To sum up: the new " Silver Eagle" Sports Four Scater is a worthy addition to the sports range that will be welcomed by the sporting connoisseur.
This fine Silver Eagle was supplied to its first owner in June 1930. It was to remain in the original ownership for many years, before being passed down to the owner’s son. However, the son never used the car, putting it into storage in a timber garage. Years later, the building collapsed on top of the car and was set on fire by vandals. The outcome was that all the original Atlantic Saloon coachwork behind the scuttle was destroyed.
The car was to pass to a new owner in 1984, who spent the next three years restoring it to a very high standard, with exact replica Cross & Ellis tourer coachwork, this being undertaken by Phil Kneller. The restoration was finished in the Summer of 1989 and some 20,000 miles has been covered subsequently and the car has been well maintained over the ensuing years, remaining in first class order and being a delight to drive. This Silver Eagle is the rarer, wide chassis sports model with high ratio rear axle, close ratio gearbox and triple carburettors.
An rear Auster Screen is fitted, which ensures passengers have a relatively draught-free ride and a full tonneau cover is supplied, along with a hood bag and luggage trunk. Also included is a small craftsman made, personalised folding picnic table, two embroidered travel rugs. The Auster Screen also has a lap apron, as originally fitted.

The car is fully equipped for touring and has twin spare wheels, pillar mounted spotlamp and a pair of long range lamps. It has been used for a number of long distance runs over the past few years, including a trip to the Pyrenees.

This superb Alvis is ready to go anywhere, with a comfortable cruising gait of around 55-60 mph.

Much documentation is supplied, including a comprehensive photographic history of the restoration along with numerous receipts etc. Six new Blockley tyres have been fitted recently and the battery has also been replaced.
