Alfa Romeo planned a huge advertising campaign to promote its new Spider, with several media presentations, a week of tests for the specialized press on the roads of Lake Garda, and even the organization of a cruise from Genoa to Cannes that included the raffle of three units during the journey.

However, the best publicity for the small Italian roadster came in 1967 from the hand of Dustin Hoffman, and his appearance in the award-winning The Graduate.
