Description

The MKIII was the last Commando model produced by the brand, already featuring changes on the left side specifically designed for the American market.
The brand went bankrupt at the end of 1977, with the MKIII being the last model produced by Norton on that era.

Motorcycle originally imported from England.
A restoration project from A to Z, improved and developed by the Maria Riding Company customization workshop.

The process was based on a complete disassembly of the motorcycle down to the last screw—both of the frame and the engine. The original engine was in good condition, which allowed for a restoration that maintained its integrity, offering great quality and reliability for its age, without any play or other typical issues found in period motorcycles.
High-compression pistons, piston rings, valves, timing belt, bearings, gaskets, and seats are all completely new and overhauled, with several modern upgrades added to improve the engine’s performance. The gearbox has been refurbished. The engine is like new. The block was stripped and varnished while maintaining its original look. All covers were polished without varnish to allow for better future maintenance.

The carburetor was completely cleaned and restored using ultrasonic cleaning and a K&N conical filter for a more dynamic and balanced performance with the new engine upgrades.

The wheels were completely disassembled and reassembled with new aluminum rims, and instead of chrome-plated iron spokes, we opted for stainless steel for greater durability and quality. The hubs were polished and fitted with new bearings, and the tires are, of course, new.

New Norton speedometers, now featuring a digital odometer.

New paint with a pigment created exclusively for this motorcycle, providing an original look, envisioned by the MRC studio.

The front suspensions were completely overhauled and repaired as new. New Bitubo rear suspensions were installed.
It is well known that this motorcycle originally did not have adequate braking capability considering the engine’s power. In this regard, all the braking systems were improved and replaced with a Brembo system adapted for this motorcycle by Colorado Norton Works, a world-renowned reference in improvement kits for Nortons.

Throughout the rest of the motorcycle, all parts were meticulously inspected and verified to correspond to the 1977 model. New parts include: the Corbin seat base, later customized and upholstered in leather and Alcantara, switches, clutch and brake levers, headlight bracket, mirrors, Motogadget turn signals, front headlight, horn, grips, levers, throttle, cables, rear headlight, front and rear mudguards, general rubber components and cylinder head gaskets, fenders, fuel cap, fuel taps, and handlebars.
The frame retained its original structure. Ninety percent of the general screws on the motorcycle were replaced with stainless steel ones for better durability.

Several unique parts were machined and specially developed for this motorcycle: micro turn signal mounts, exhaust mounts, a component that secures the rear suspension, an oil pressure indicator console machined by Colorado Norton Works, and aluminum steering plates also machined by CNW.

New stainless steel exhaust and headers identical to the original model but of superior quality.
The original electrical wiring was completely re-created from scratch and thoroughly revised for improved performance. A higher-capacity starter motor was installed to reliably crank the engine—something that wasn’t originally possible. A high-capacity lithium battery was also fitted.

It runs perfectly like a new motorcycle. It picks up, rides, and brakes flawlessly, surprising with its outstanding performance for a 1977 motorcycle.

There is not much more to say—the photos speak for themselves!
If you wish, you can schedule an appointment to see it in person.
Ideal for collectors and investors.
