Chamonix NG Cars Classic Cars for Sale

Established in 1987 by Brazilian Milton Masteguin and American Chuck Beck, Chamonix NG Cars are a Brazilian car manufacturer that specialise in replicating classic Porsche models from the 1950's and 1960's, complete with modern technology.

Chamonix NG Cars Take Off

Masteguin's background in constructing sports vehicles for the Brazilian company Puma Cars for 28 years and Beck's expertise as an automotive engineer meant that these two had a wealth of experience when they joined forces to produce a replica of the Porsche 550 'Spyder'. Setting up Chamonix Indústria e Comércio (later to become Chamonix NG Cars), early success with this moulded fibreglass replica in the American and Japanese import markets led them to expand in 1991 to produce a replica of the Super 90 Cabriolet B, a version of the Porsche 356. This was closely followed by the 'Speedster' in 1993, another variant from the 356 family and the Spyder 550s in 1995.

Chamonix NG Cars Reach Pole Position

Their credentials as manufacturers of quality reproduction cars established (NG aptly stands for New Generation) Chamonix NG Cars began to export their cars globally taking in Europe, Asia and the Middle East as well as the North and South American markets and Japan. Regularly featured in specialist publications, the name Chamonix NG Cars became synonymous with quality Porsche replicas. With light fibreglass bodies and modern VW technology, in terms of driving experience these cars outstripped the expensive, sought after originals on which they were modelled.

Chamonix NG Cars Classic Models

Launching with the 550 'Spyder', a replica of the famous racing Porsche of the same name which won at Targa Florio, Le Mans, Nürburgring and many other international races; Chamonix NG Cars moved on to develop the Super 90 Cabriolet. Also based on a Porsche of the same name, the Super 90 and its successors the Speedster and the Roadster, were all variants of the 356, the first in a long line of luxury sports cars that became synonymous with the Porsche marque. Reaching speeds of 100km in 9.5 seconds, the Speedster has a maximum speed of 168km/h with a 1.6L VW Boxer engine and 65 HP. With other variants of the Spyder available, including the limited edition Le Mans model, the current available model, the Spyder 550s can reach speeds up to 230km/h and goes from 0 to 100 km in just 6.5 seconds.

Chamonix NG Cars Marque

In keeping with the cars they emulate, the Chamonix marque is a shield featuring five stars on a silver and yellow background. The significance of this has not been established but Chamonix NG Cars has certainly earned its place in the firmament.
