"We think the last Beetle deserves special equipment," writes the Volkswagen advertising text in a 1985 advertisement. VW produces 3150 examples of the "Anniversary Beetle," 2400 of which are destined for the German market alone. It is a break in the car life of the Germans, who learned to travel with and in the Beetle, rumors say also to love, because after officially 50 years Volkswagen stops the factory import in 1985.

Only rarely but regularly the Beetle was taken out of the garage.
