Triumph TR3A handicapped converted for wheelchair users
First delivery USA; Imported to Germany from Southern California in 1988.
The vehicle was extensively restored for a good year from 1999 to 2000 at a cost of around DM 46,000
The current owner bought the vehicle in 2003 and had it converted in 2004-2006 to make it handicapped accessible with an automatic transmission and accelerator and brake controls on the steering wheel, costs around EUR 20,000. Collapsible lightweight travel wheelchair to fit trunk is included. The Triumph can also be driven with the pedals; the conversion can be reversed.
Comprehensive engine overhaul in 2013, incl. new camshaft, new engine mount, oil seal, 1-2-3 ignition system, reinforced and improved water pump, improved cooling (electric fan), improved electrical system, modified alternator, improved chassis, exhaust manifold, rack and pinion steering with split steering column.
All work was carried out by specialist workshops.
This Triumph is wonderful to drive on a day-to-day basis, capable of long distances and very reliable. The current owners have already moved the car to Moscow.
Even more than 23 years after its restoration, the car impresses with its unique quality and very good condition.
