Description

This magnificent, upgraded MGB Roadster has come to us from one of our regular customers. Finished in Primrose with Yellow piped Black leather trim and chrome wire wheels, this top quality, fully rebuilt MGB has an impressive spec to include a recently fitted 1950cc stage 2 lightened and balanced lead free Oselli engine with new clutch, Maniflow large bore tubular manifold and system, Weber 45 DCOE carburettor with Oselli inlet manifold and K&N air filter. This UK Home Market car also features overdrive and upgraded suspension.

VRX 779H has only covered a few thousand miles since its restoration, and comes with a file of history that also confirms the MGB had its first restoration during the 1980's. An invoice is on file from Potteries MG Centre in Stoke on Trent dated 1988, selling the car fully restored to standard specification. MOT's are on file from the late 1980's and during the 1990's and 2000's showing regular use. The MGB was clearly a good quality older restoration, but prior to 2017 was restored once again and a taken to a show standard level.

The body was stripped down, panels replaced as required and the shell then professionally painted in Primrose. Chrome work was renewed, the interior re-trimmed, a new hood, new chrome wires and tyres fitted. More recently the wires have been changed for the very desirable knock on Minilight wheels. On inspection on arrival, the underside can be seen to be in exceptional condition, matching the quality of the rest of the car. The brakes were renewed, new shock absorbers fitted and the new Oselli Stage 2 engine and upgraded ancillaries were fitted offering the car increased performance.

On the road this MGB is fantastic, its quick, handles perfectly and has a wonderful note under acceleration. The 1950cc lightened and balanced engine transforms the drive and feel of the car on the road, and with a smooth all syncromesh gearbox and overdrive, VRX 779H is ideal for long distance touring. Condition wise the car is exceptional, the body and paintwork are fantastic, the chrome work excellent, the engine bay, boot compartment and underside first class, and the interior trim beautiful and fresh. This is a top class car, and is a car ready to use and enjoy.
