Description
Paul Daimler was passionate about technology even as a child. The challenges his dad, Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach had with the management of the Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (DMG), inspired Paul Daimer to join Austro Daimler in Austria. He became Technical Manager and General Manager but in the end still became Wilhelm Maybach's successor at DMG. The model 15/20 PS was the smallest and most modern Mercedes of its time. Its engine had hanging and standing valves as well cardan transmission and its inspection intervals of 4,000 kilometers were revolutionary.
Our Mercedes 15/20 PS was delivered by Daimler Ltd. In London. We do not know what type of body was on the chassis but the wheelbase suggests a "Tonneau". This veteran car was discovered, fully restored, 20 years ago in Great Britain and it is great fun to drive because it is so light. Steering is direct and the transmission easy to handle and the brakes can handle speed up to 50 km/h. But you should avoid driving it at maximum speed (90 km/h)!
