The Mercedes 300SL was and remains one of the world's most coveted automobiles, a rare instant classic. truly the world's first supercar and arguably the greatest car of the 1950s, such an icon was the 300SL that it was used in adverts to promote other Mercedes models as early as 1971, standing in a lineup with a 540K, SSK and Patent Motorwagen in an advertisement for the then new 350SL, highlighting Mercedes' most iconic models.

We at DD Classics pride ourselves on always having among the most varied stocks of any classic car dealers on the planet as we love cars and a diverse range of them. We seldom choose to specialise in any one model but one such exception to this rule, which we have and continue to specialise in, is the 300SL. In the past dozen or so years, DD Classics has, we believe, sold more 300SLs, both Gullwings and Roadsters than any other UK dealer. A prime example came when we sold an astonishing three 300SL Roadsters in the span of one week, one of which was a 1956 factory prototype and development car, the oldest 300SL Roadster in existence!

So if you ever find yourself wanting to purchase an example of the world's most famous classic car, a must-have for any serious collector, we await your call.
