Description

We are selling a beautiful DB 280 SL Pagoda Automatic.

This is a German vehicle with the original German cardboard vehicle registration document, with three owners to date.

  1. A housewife from July 31, 1968 to December 20, 1972.

  2. A businessman from December 20, 1972 to April 9, 1980.

  3. A private individual from April 9, 1980 to March 6, 2023.

We subsequently acquired the Pagoda and completely restored it from the ground up.

The body was completely disassembled and rebuilt, meaning the front end was replaced, including the front panel. Both fenders and the side walls/inner wheel arches were replaced with new parts and attached using the original Daimler-Benz weld points.

At the rear, both fenders and the uprights/inner wheel arches were also replaced with new parts. The trunk floor and rear end panel were also replaced with new parts with the original weld points.

The hoods, doors, and convertible top frame with the original numbers (according to the DB data card) were also restored.

The Pagoda was then painted in DB Bronze Brown Metallic (461).

The interior was completely disassembled, the seats were reupholstered and re-covered with Date leather (1107). The doors, dashboard, and convertible top compartment lid were re-covered with leather, a high-quality looped carpet was installed, and all instruments and the radio were overhauled.

A new convertible top in dark brown fabric was installed.

The mechanicals were also rebuilt, meaning the engine was disassembled into all its individual parts, the crankshaft was reground and re-bearing, the cylinder was re-honed and new pistons were installed, the cylinder head was disassembled, new valve seats and valves were installed, all gaskets were replaced, the injection pump was checked and resealed, the automatic transmission was checked and resealed, and the rear axle (392) was checked, resealed, and re-bearing.

The front axle was disassembled and all bushings were replaced, all shock absorbers were replaced, the brake system was completely overhauled, and all wear parts were replaced.

The Pagoda has a matching number according to the original DB data card.

At the time of purchase, the Pagoda had an odometer reading of 106,760.

Now, after the restoration, the Pagoda has been driven approximately 700 km for adjustment.
