The Mercedes 190 SL was an elegant touring sports car, known as a comfortable travel car with sporty design elements inspired by the Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing. A total of 25,881 vehicles were produced between 1955 and 1963. According to the KBA, only 1,368 vehicles were still registered in Germany as of 2015.

The strikingly beautiful design of the Mercedes 190 SL was modeled after the 300 SL Gullwing. This design fascinated the public from the very beginning and continues to captivate to this day.

Among the most prominent owners of this series were Romy Schneider, Grace Kelly, Frank Sinatra, Alfred Hitchcock, Cary Grant, and Ringo Starr.

According to the current owner and research conducted, this particular vehicle was delivered in early 1957 in Cologne and sold to Aachen in 2005. The current owner acquired the vehicle in 2020.

The vehicle was ordered from a German Mercedes-Benz dealership. Around the year 2000, it was repainted in its original color, and the engine and carburetor system were completely overhauled. The entire carpet in the interior and the convertible top were renewed.

The Mercedes 190 SL Roadster is presented in a very beautiful metallic silver-gray and shows an excellent shine. A rare option is the third seat on the rear bench, which can be used as an emergency seat. This seat can be mounted and dismounted with just a few simple steps. The black fabric top is of outstanding quality and was newly installed by a specialist.

Since purchasing the vehicle in 2020, the current owner has driven the 190 SL Roadster around 3,000 kilometers and attended several classic car events within the country.

The vehicle offers very reliable technology and is incredibly smooth to drive and shift. All maintenance records from the previous owner are documented. The steering gear was renewed in 2023.
