Description

This Maserati Indy 2+2 Tipo AM 107/1 manufactured in March 1972 at the Modena, Italy, factory is one of 364 units that were manufactured with the 4.7-liter engine out of 1,102 units produced between 1969 and 1975.

This particular unit comes standard with a ZF 5-speed manual transmission and mounts the 4.7-liter 90-degree V8 290cv engine with double overhead camshaft and Bosch injection system, where according to the catalogue, the car managed to reach the 175 Mph.

The vehicle had a complete and fully restoration from bodywork, paint and interiors to mechanics.

It is currently registered with the original Barcelona license plate of the time with all the documentation up to date. It can be viewed and tested by appointment at our facilities in Barcelona, just 5 minutes from the international airport.

The Maserati Indy, officially unveiled at the 1969 Geneva Motor Show, was a tribute to the two consecutive victories of Maserati 8CTF racing cars in the famous 500-mile race at the Indianapolis Speedway in 1939 and 1940.

This new model was designed by Virginio Vairo at Vignale and was conceived to bridge the gap between Ghibli and Mexico. The roofline was higher compared to the Ghibli, offering more headroom for rear passengers. The mechanics were borrowed from the Ghibli and represented traditional Maserati technology: semi-monocoque structure with front subframe, independent double wishbone front suspension and a rigid rear axle with leaf springs.

Standard equipment included a two-way adjustable steering column, anti-theft steering lock, leather upholstery, tinted power windows, reclining seats, fog lamps, heated rear windshield, headrests, and a dash-mounted clock in front of the passenger. Power steering, automatic gearbox and radio were options. In 1973, the Indy adopted the hydraulic braking system of Citroën, the then new owner of Maserati
