Sales information

This Lancia Fulvia Coupé Rallye 1.3 HF is a rare and special car because only 697 copies were built from 1967 to 1969. In order to bring the performance to an unprecedented high level for that class, the model “Rallye HF” was built as light as possible. A body of thinner steel, an aluminum bonnet, aluminum door panels and Perspex rear windows. The weight was reduced to 825 kilograms. That is 125 kg less than a standard Lancia Fulvia.

The 1298 cc V4 engine was tuned at the factory to 103 hp with a new cylinder head design, larger valves, modified camshafts, modified intake and exhaust manifolds, two double Solex C35 PHH carburetors and a lightweight flywheel. It goes without saying that the Lancia can achieve great performances here. Which is not only due to the engine, but certainly also to the beautiful suspension. The front-wheel drive car steers razor-sharp thanks to its progressive suspension and steering. And the fewer kilos that need to be dragged along, the better. And in those combinations, the HF excels particularly.

The car that we are now offering has been extensively restored, overhauled and upgraded with high-quality parts. Everything on the car has been restored, overhauled or new, no expense or effort has been spared in the pursuit of perfection. For example, all hose clamps and striking bolts and nuts are made of stainless steel T304. All subframe rubbers are of better “shore” quality, type 90-92. The leaf springs have been renewed including the intermediate plastic filter strips and the carburettors have been overhauled by the Italian specialist Accornero Servofreni in Turin. Of course, all bodywork rubbers have been renewed, the wiring harness has been renewed, T304 stainless steel brake calipers have been fitted (complete with “bridge tubes”) and Koni-Vintage adjustable shock absorbers have been fitted. Further upgrades: 2 x Spal lightweight “sucker” cooling fans with sensor in the radiator and “override” switch on the dashboard. Cooling fans, spotlights and starter motor all have their own relay, and a dynamo with at least 480 watts has been fitted. Sturdy new steel wheels have also been fitted because the old ones were no longer reliable. Safety first. Of course, there are quite a few photos available of all the work carried out.

The details mentioned, show that this rare Fulvia Rallye 1.3 HF has been built to top specifications. According to the valuation report, the appraiser even saw the car at a value of € 72.000,= And that also says something about the level of quality, we think.

We drove the car wonderfully over a few special stages of the local Hellendoorn Rally and the HF really feels at home there. But you can also tour wonderfully quietly with it or even in city traffic is no problem at all. The engine is certainly not temperamental and runs wonderfully in every rev range. The gearbox is just as smooth with its beautiful ratios which means that the sufficient torque can be transferred to the front wheels at all times. For someone who has never driven a Fulvia HF, it is guaranteed to be a revelation, because in 1968, which is the year this car was built, it was really the top in the class of compact cars.

Another fun fact: The famous HF logo was first introduced in 1960, at the Geneva Motor Show, when a group of passionate Lancia car owners founded the club “Lancia Hi-Fi” (Hi-Fi stands for High-Fidelity). This club was reserved for people who had bought at least six brand new Lancias.

However, you do not have to have bought six new Lancias or be a member of a club for this Lancia Fulvia Rallye 1.3 HF. Just send us a message and the car will be ready for you.

History

In 1963 Lancia presented the Fulvia sedan model. Two years later, in 1965, the Fulvia coupé came on the market. The Fulvia coupé has a very characteristic design, created by Lancia’s own design studio. The Fulvia coupé is a real compact sports coupé as only the Italians can create. Characteristics are the short wheelbase, the low weight, the compact dimensions, aluminum engine construction and great road holding.
The Fulvia coupé was available with four-cylinder V-engines. The engine was available with three cylinder capacities; 1216 cc., 1298 cc. and 1584 cc.
Between 1968 and 1972 Lancia won many rallies with a special version of the Fulvia. The Lancia factory rally cars were called Fulvia HF. The “Fanalone” rally version with large headlights was built with aluminum body parts, plastic side and rear windows, and a tuned 1584 cc. V4 engine.
Lancia won the European Rally Championship three times and the World Championship twice with the Fulvia.
