Isn’t the Lancia Flaminia just such an ageless beauty? Especially when it comes like this one does. This just happens to be a series I car. The car looks and is in great condition.

Seeing this car it is impossible for any proper Italian car lover not to become overwhelmed with nostalgia. Where did the time go when car brands like Lancia were still on top of their game? When admiring this Flaminia it is almost impossible to imagine a car giant like Lancia would become a brand only capable of making a city car and that with technology borrowed from Fiat.

Better to turn attention back to this gorgeous Lancia Flaminia GT Touring. The 1959 car in front of us has the bodywork fully constructed according to the "Superleggera" method. This was patented construction method by coachbuilder Carrozzeria Touring to make light bodywork. This fully restored car looks the part. It sports the iconic resprayed “Grigio Newmarket” finish. The good quality paintwork looks fabulous. Both the top and bottom of car are in very good shape. The nice and thin aluminium panelwork is correctly aligned. Naturally there is not a speck of rust to be seen on the chassis.

The interior trim has recently been replaced. The top of the dash is in black and the doors and seats are upholstered in lovely burgundy red leather. The beige coloured carpets have been relayed in authentic fashion. The moment you open the door you are caught by an enormous urge to own. What a fantastic design and what a great colour combination. The Jaeger instrument cluster is in great condition and works as it should. The new headlining completes the picture inside.

The car is driven by a good functioning 2.5 litre V6 fed by a single Solex carburettor. The engine is the result of further development of the Aurelia’s 2.5 litre V6. The 119 Ps pushes this Italian coupé along with ease. This Flaminia features a De Dion axle and rear mounted four-speed transaxle for optimal weight distribution. All this allows, even after 62 years, this to be a formidable car for the long haul. This generation of Lancias were of such high technological standard that it will amaze you how modern the Flaminia GT Touring feels to drive.

It is almost impossible to come up with an even more stylish car. The Flaminia is typically the kind of car everybody loves and nobody frowns at. Anyone can see this car is only driven by a true enthusiast. Don't be sad Lancia now only produces such unattractive cars when these example still grace our roads.
