Description

We last first came across this incredibly original, low mileage and unique Jaguar MKIX back in 2017. The Jaguar is likely to be one of the lowest mileage examples available having covered less than 30,000 miles. 1670 JW was supplied new in special order Cotswold Blue with Grey leather upholstery and left the factory with power assisted steering and automatic transmission and is a very correct car that is without doubt a car for the discerning collector.

This beautiful example covered just 22712 miles from 1960 to 1986 and since then has covered little over 7000 miles in 38 years. Tax discs and MOT certificates show very low usage during the 1990's and in 1996 at 26000 miles the Jaguar was taken over to the Netherlands. The Jaguar returned to the UK in 2014 having covered almost 3000 miles on the Continent over the 18 years period in the Netherlands.

Unlike most, this MKIX has never in its life been dismantled, the bodywork is outstanding, panel gaps stunning, panels perfectly straight, original, and not repaired. The bodyshell is original and outstanding, the Cotswold Blue paintwork has a strong, deep shine and the chrome work is all original and still bright after so many years. The leather seats have beautifully aged, they are nicely creased and have no tears or damage. The original headlining is excellent, the woodwork is superb, the door cards and carpets present well showing all the hallmarks of a true time warp. The engine bay is clean with smart original paint, the boot retains original mat and spare wheel cover and jack, door pockets still retain the original tool kits, the car is just wonderful in every respect.

Driving the car does not disappoint, the 3781cc is in superb order holding excellent oil pressure and performing correctly with impressive power and acceleration. 1670 JW is an original car that has been kept in excellent order throughout its life and is a perfectly usable, beautifully presented example that can be enjoyed and used for reliable touring immediately. This is a true time warp and is quite possibly unrepeatable
