1961 Jaguar MkII Saloon

- Equipped with more powerful 4.2-litre engine
- Made improvements such as modern seats, ventilated braking system
and air conditioning
- LPG installation
- Completely restored in the past
- Dark green with beige interior

An ideal combination of classic design and contemporary comfort and handling: that's what this Jaguar MkII has to offer.

This beautiful, stylish saloon was delivered in 1961 in a left-hand drive version. In 1995, the car was imported into the Netherlands. In 2001, the car passed to its next owner, who had the car improved on many fronts by a Jaguar specialist: the total investment including the car itself was a whopping 115,000 guilders.

For instance, the car was fitted with a ventilated brake system, air conditioning, modern seats and a more powerful 4.2-litre 6-cylinder engine. The air conditioning is new but needs to be filled with coolant. The 4.2-litre engine comes from an XJ6 and produces a whopping 220bhp. In addition, the car has been repainted and a gearbox revision was carried out. The invoice for this is present, as well as for the maintenance carried out later.

Other options the car is equipped with include power steering, central door locking and a radio/CD player.

The modifications make the Jaguar a rare find: a beautiful classic but also practical for daily use. Or consider a holiday or road trip.

This car will take you to your destination in style, comfort and, thanks to its economical LPG system, relatively cheaply. The composition is also particularly beautiful in dark green with beige leather upholstery and chrome wire wheels. The condition is very nice with no rust and nice fits of body parts.

In short, a unique opportunity to clock up miles with this Jaguar that has not been skimped on.

General information about the Jaguar MkII
The MkII was introduced by Jaguar in 1959 as a luxurious but also sporty sedan as a successor to the 2.4 and 3.4-litre models. The sedan with good handling characteristics originally came with a choice of three six-cylinder engines with twin camshafts: 2.4-litre, 3.4-litre or 3.8-litre.

It was also equipped with the new Dunlop disc brakes all round instead of drum brakes. Due to its good performance, the MkII achieved a lot of success on the track, some of which are still used for it. Some famous names that achieved success include Stirling Moss, Bruce McLaren Graham Hill, Roy Salvadori and Michael Parkes.
