Description
After Moritz Straus took over the majority of shares in Horch in 1920, he developed Horch into a premium manufacturer for cars with large engines. He hired Paul Daimler as chief designer. Irony of fate: what Gottlieb Daimler’s son was not allowed to do at DMG (Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft), he was able to achieve at Horch by designing a modern in-line eight-cylinder engine with two overhead camshafts. In 1932 Horch presented the Type 780 with the further developed eight-cylinder engine, now under the direction of the chief designer Fritz Fiedler, who had come from Stoewer in Stettin. A displacement of 5 litres and 100 hp were impressive features. And again there were hauntingly beautiful bodies for the “Bold and Beautiful”.
Our Horch 780 Sports Convertible is equipped with the three-part panoramic windscreen. This rare luxury vintage car was completely restored a few years ago by a German specialist. It was used, among other things, on a round trip in Ireland. Enjoy the elegance and generous space of this classic.
