Description

Here we have a true survivor, an incredibly rare car that is rarely seen on UK roads today. This is a true collector’s piece being the top of range model, the Sedicivalvole. With the option of ten Tipo models, this was one to have, even winning car of the year in 1989. This RHD Fiat Tipo 2.0 with electronic injection shared the same famous twin cam Lampredi engine as the Lancia Delts and is a fantastic hot-hatch with just 83,508 miles from new. The comprehensive history file details the repairs and services that have been carried out since 1992 by various workshops that specialise in Italian cars. Most recently, a new timing belt and water pump kit, new Abarth alloy wheels and a new exhaust has been fitted in July of 2024 by Autosportivo of Bedford.

The paintwork presents very well for its age, and the interior upholstery has been very well kept throughout its life. To take the car out is a great experience, the 2.0L engine is very spritely and pulls smoothly, the brakes are great, and the steering is responsive. The driving experience is encompassing of all what you would hope from a hot hatch of this age, it really takes you back to the 90's.

Fiat having been making automobiles since 1890 and have manufactured some very iconic cars over their 130-year period. The likes of the Fiat 500, Fiat topolino, and the Fiat Dino are some of the most iconic models they have made. The Tipo was the successor of the Ritmo and was produced from 1988 until 1993 and was designed by a former lead designer of Zagato, Ercole Spada. Initially designed to be a sedan it's a relief that we see that hatchback presentation we have in front of us today.

This will make for a great car to enjoy and to tinker with on weekends, providing a fantastic driving experience, and looking very good while doing so.
