Description

"May my enemies live long enough to see my success."

The Ferrari Mondial was launched in 1980, taking over from the 308GT4. It featured the same mid-mounted V8 engine but on a longer wheelbase. Instead of Bertone's striking design, the Pininfarina-designed Mondial was like an elegant Italian symphony of cortesia: better equipped, more comfortable, with true 2+2 seating (though Ferrari admits the rear seats are mostly suitable for children and small adults) and still capable of reaching 140 mph.

The model delivered from 1982, known as the 6– or "QV" version, had four valves per cylinder instead of two. This upgrade boosted the power of the 2.9-liter V8 from 214 to 240 hp. The finishing touch everyone secretly longed for.

The Mondial 8 is still regarded as one of Ferrari's most reliable, affordable to maintain, and practical models. And that’s simply good news. Is the Mondial a real Ferrari? Absolutely, and especially the Quattrovalvole. Once you get in, you notice all the gauges are shaped around the driver, and the eight-cylinder engine behind you delivers a wonderful sound. When you start it up, you can hear the coolant sloshing and the fuel pump humming. Ingegneria Emozionale! The prancing horse from Modena boasts 240 hp and a dogleg 5-speed gearbox, perfectly matched. Today, the Mondial QV is becoming more sought after by the minute. So, jump aboard and don’t miss this opportunity, or you’ll regret it later…

And ours? It’s in the best color combination: Rosso Corsa with beige leather interior. Largely retaining its original paint, it has covered just 20,000 miles, making it a true collector’s item. As Enzo himself always said: “Too much is not enough.” We agree, so this one belongs in your collection. Already have one? Not enough. See you soon!
