The middle of the "Tri-Five Chevrolets" affectionately referred to by enthusiasts worldwide, namely year 55-56-57. One of 41,268 convertibles built in ‘56 in the bright original GM two-tone color combination India Ivory / Matador Red (code 711). The vinyl bel air interior is still factory original and very beautiful, the benches were newly padded for support, the carpet is still what was attached in ‘56 and looks nice. The first owner ordered the powerpack option (option 410), which is the V8 engine (Super Turbo Fire engine) from 265cu.i. with cylinder head slightly higher compression, higher lift camshaft, 4-port carburettor and dual exhaust with the correct flat ends, delivers 205 hp. Furthermore, the car has power brakes, fenderskirts, continental wheel kit, backup lights, rear bumper guards and whitewall tires. Chrome is razor-sharp. Inside you will find the original pushbutton deluxe lamp radio in combination with a philips AG 2101 turntable 45 tr singles, works flawlessly. In the glove box is a concealed 4 × 45 watt radio with USB connection and 2 flat 300 watt speakers are mounted under the front seat so that you can hear Eddie Cohran well. To top it all off, the car has the rare “safety spotlight and mirror” left and right, operated from the inside with pistol grips. This really is a time capsule with window stickers that refer to a past life in the country of Uncle Sam, Chevy dealer sticker, Texas tax sticker… The hydraulic chevolon top electrically operated features a new white hood with zip-out plastic window and vinyl boot. Car and folding top manual, advertising brochure, accessory booklet with images and prices and a 230 page folder ”specifications catalog for the chevy salesmen”. In '55 GM invented the slogan for the new Chevy “the hot one”, '56 they adapted to “the hot one even hotter”… and they were right!
