Description
The Councillor of Commerce Carl Reichstein was the founder of the Brennabor company in Brandenburg in 1871. Initially, the company manufactured wicker prams. The company grew from 15 employees to 200 within three years. Later, bicycles were manufactured and, from 1902, motorbikes. The Brenaborette tricycle then paved the way for the company to become a car manufacturer. From 1908, the small 6/8 PS car was produced, which was very successful with its four-cylinder engine. Brennabor was the first German automobile company to strive for rationalised large-scale production and was the largest German vehicle manufacturer at the beginning of the 1920s. The Juwel 6 model, produced from 1929 to 1933, was considered to be very elegant. In the mid-1920s, Brennabor was overtaken by Opel due to its more market-orientated model range. Car production then ended in 1933 as American vehicles became overpowering.
Our Brennabor Juwel 6 with its convertible limousine body is very rare. Completely restored, it was in a collection of pre-war German vehicles for a long time. A wonderful classic car for trips and historic rallies.
