1994 | BMW 850Ci

Design of the 8 Series began in 1984 with the final design phase and production development in 1986. It debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show in early September 1989 and was designed to move beyond the market of the original 6 Series. The 8 Series however had substantially improved performance as well as a far higher purchase price. Over 1.5 billion Deutsche Marks were spent on development; BMW used CAD tools, still unusual at the time, to design the car's all-new body. Combined with wind tunnel testing, the resulting car had a drag coefficient of 0.29 and offered the first V12 engine mated to a six-speed manual gearbox on a road car. It was also one of the first vehicles to be fitted with an electronic 'drive-by-wire' throttle.

This example of the 80/90's icon the 850 Ci is presented in silver with contrasting leather trim. First registered in 1994 to its only owner in Cyprus where is stayed until he imported the car in 2021 to his UK residence in Surrey. A one owner car and owned as part of a collection the car has been continuously maintained and boasts an incredible 20,378 miles (32,796 kms) from new. Upon its arrival in the UK our client sent the car to BMW at which point he had the car fully retrimmed by the main dealer and since it has since been maintained and cared for annually. A superb investment or collector opportunity for what is one of the lowest mileage 8 series on the market and this one is offered direct from the only former keeper from new.
