Description

Baikal blue 3.0 Coupe

This BMW 3.0 CSi is a factory CSi that was built on the 23rd of October 1972 and delivered on the 30th to BMW Italia S.p.A in Palazzolo, Verona. First registered in the 21st of November '72 in the Bolzano area of northern Italy. A genuine CSi, wearing it's original color - 042 Baikal Blue, Black leather interior and matching numbers drivetrain.

In my opinion one of the most beautiful colors for the E9. Very classy and chique - all the chrome really stands out. Combined with a beautiful tan leather interior, slightly lowered suspension and sitting on 7x14" wheels - the perfect E9.

The car drove in the Bolzano area in South Tirol, Italy. 12 years later it took the trip over the Alps: the car was bought by Mr. Nogler from Lienz, Austria in 1984. Then being 12 years old, and still BMW's most beautiful Coupe it moved 150 kilometers from Bolzano to Lienz. Mr. Nogler is a Hotel owner based in the Austrian Alps and he owned the car up til we have bought it earlier this year. Yes a 2-owner car, in last ownership since 1984, a 1984-dated picture of the actual car is present. The car has only driven 103.000 kilometers.

It gets better. Mr. Nogler had a complete Engine rebuild performed at an Austrian BMW dealership in 2020, it was only driven 300 kilometers since! €15,600 euro was spent - The cylinderhead was rebuilt, 6 new Mahle pistons, all bearings replaced, new gears and chain, new clutch and more.

The car came to Oldenzaal in a good and solid condition - but did need love from us. The car's body is beautiful and showing excellent panelgaps. We've had a complete paintjob performed in the factory Baikal color. Ofcourse with all trim off and windows out, completely repainted. A nice and solid body with the correct fold in the sides. On and around the body it shows beautiful chrome accents. The chrome-trim around the car presents nice as well as the trim around the windows. Nice and clear headlights in black grilles. The tailights are in very good condition. The chrome bumpers present in excellent condition, with a mirror shine - even on the underside. The grilles on the bonnet and fenders are brand new.

Amazing is that the engine-bay of this car is completely original - Original paint, mats and decals from 1972. Amazing, really says something about the car's condition, originality and mileage. Technically the car was completely gone through: Rebuilt brakes, new shocks, clutch cylinder, fluids, filters, tuning ignition & injection and much more. The car sits on a restored set of 7x14 inch wheels with new Falken tires.

The interior of this survivor E9 is very original. The front and rear seats have been reupholstered in beautiful black leather. The rest is all original. Carpets, doorpanels, dashboard, center console and wood trim - lovely kept original parts from 1972. Also the factory headliner is clean and white! A new set of automatic seatbelts along with Nardi steering wheel have been installed - The original 3-spoke steering wheel is present.

The trunk is all original. Amazing, really shows the care it got for 50+ years. Original panels with grey vinyl, clean, original trunk mat, a full set of tools. Tool, jack and spare wheel are present.

The car's undercarriage amazes: Original floors, sills and wheel wells. After extensive cleaning it shows how BMW made it in 1972 and what a warm, dry climate does. The original condition was preserved with a transparant coating by TimeMax.

The car drives amazing. It feels very tight. It brakes and handles great. The engine runs great and is very fast.
