Early and highly original Three Liter Coupe

We've found a very original, untouched 3 Liter Coupe. Something we're very fond and proud of. This is 3.0 CS with VIN 2210508 making it the 507th produced 3.0 CS. Sold new through BMW Switzerland on the 21st of June 1971 to the original owner, Miss Irène Dambassis. The car was driven up til the year 1986 and shows only 95.000 kilometers. Finished from the factory in 023 Granada. A beautiful, rich shade of red. In my eyes more charming color than the later 'Verona' red.

It comes with the original owner's manual and service book - in the name of Miss. Dambassis. Sold by Garage St. Christophe in Lausanne, Switzerland and driven on numberplate VD(Vaud)84955. The car was driven until 1986 and showed 91.000 kilometers in 1985. The car was rediscovered in 2024, found it's way to Oldenzaal and we got to work. Current Swiss registration is showing Miss. Dambassis - 1 lady owner from new - Unique!

The body of the car is exceptionally straight and doesnt show any signs of previous repairs. It was repainted once and the paint shows exellent. The trim is very beautiful as one can expect with 95.000 kilometers. The chrome around the windows is still shiny, the beltline trim is as new and so are the bumpers. The chrome grilles were replaced here and the Emblems kept it's patina. The car shows perfect panelgaps and very sharp bodylines.

The car's undercarriage is quite exceptional. It cleaned up very very well. All original floors, sills and jack-points - Unrepaired and rust free. Note that these early E9's have the floors and wheel wells in beige primer, unlike later cars. Unrestored!

The engine-bay of this Coupe looks beautiful and correct. It houses the matching numbers 3.0 Liter Inline six which runs excellent. It features original and non-repaired inner fenders with their factory mats, stickers and showing original paint. We’ve set up the carburators, set up the ignition and it (cold)starts, idles and runs excellent. The engine received a major-service from us. Including all fluids, valve adjustment, waterpump, thermostat, all coolant hoses, all filters and more.

The 4-speed gearbox feels equally good and the differential is silent. Oils are new, clutch cylinder was replaced along with hardy disc, center driveshaft bearing and diff mounting bushing. The suspension received new bushings in the front, brand new shocks front + back and a set of slightly lowered springs. The brakes were completely rebuilt with 4 rebuilt calipers, rebuilt master cylinder, new lines and new fluid. The car has a stainless steel exhaust system and it sits on a set of 7x14" Alpina wheels with new tyres. The original FPS wheels come with the car.

The interior is very original and non-restored. Amazing to see this quality in a 1971 car. Lovely original black leather. Very straight doorpanels, original wood in great condition. The carpet is clean and original. The headliner is crisp and white. Original leather steering wheel, Blaupunkt FM radio and perfectly original dash and center console.

The trunk of the car is completely original. Original grey panels, complete set of tools and jack, tool and spare present. The car drives beautiful and is very easy to drive. The engine runs excellent and sounds great. The 4-speed shifts easily, it corners great and brakes straight.
