Variety is the spice of life, the saying goes. It’s something that can also certainly be applied to the current state of international GT3 racing. Thanks to an open and attractive ruleset, paired with a tightly controlled Balance of Performance (BOP) system ensuring parity between brands, manufacturers from all over the world have flocked to the class. This has resulted in healthy grids all over the world with a significant variety of different shapes, sizes and car concepts. Front-engined Grand Tourers and mid-engined supercars alike are able to win races and enjoy success.

The Bentley Continental GT3 is that concept taken to its most extreme. Originally introduced in 2014, the British marque raised eyebrows when M-Sport extensively modified its luxury grand tourer and prepared it for racing in various GT3 championships. Although a unique sight on the grid due to its bulky size, the formula worked: Vincent Abril and Maximilian Buhk drove an HTP Motorsport-entered example to the title in the 2015 Blancpain GT Sprint Series. Their colleagues Steven Kane, Andy Meyrick and 2003 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Guy Smith only missed out on the Endurance Cup title by three points.

A second-generation version was developed by M-Sport and introduced for the 2018 season. Again, success followed. The British brute was a strong contender in races and championships around the globe and in 2020 M-Sport achieved its biggest success when Jules Gounon, Jordan Pepper and Maxime Soulet won the grueling Bathurst 12 Hour.

This example (chassis BGT3 02/003) has history in the 2018 and 2019 Blancpain Endurance Series as a factory backed M-Sport car, most notably contesting the 2019 24 Hours of Spa. In 2020 it raced with renowned British privateers Team Parker Racing before it was acquired directly from M-Sport by a Dutch gentleman driver. He entered the car in the Supercar Challenge, taking a pair of race victories at Hockenheim and the Red Bull Ring. Additionally, he and the BoDA by Bas Koeten Racing squad made two appearances in the Hankook 24H Series that year, racing at Mugello and Spa-Francorchamps.

The car was professionally maintained by Pul Engineering and Bas Koeten Racing of The Netherlands and comes with an up-to-date service overview. M-sport in the UK also offers service and parts.

Only M-sport parts were used on this car.
