The legendary Austin-Healey was built between 1959 and 1967. During these years, continuous improvements and upgrades were developed, which led to the Austin-Healey 3000 Mark II in March 1961. This came standard with three SU HS4 carburettors and also benefited from an improved camshaft. The Mark II was also available as a four-seater version (BT7) and a two-seater version (BN7). In 1962, the Austin-Healey 3000 MKII A (now called the BJ7 as a four-seater) appeared on the market as the successor to the MKII. The number of carburettors was reduced to two SUs of the HS6 type due to the fact that the three HS4s were difficult to synchronise. The Healey was a fast and attractive car that was mainly sold on the American market.

The big advantages of the MKII A compared to the MKII are the round windshield, the revolving windows that can quickly provide shelter on a colder summer evening and the easy-to-operate convertible top, now without a separate frame. The classic dashboard that was later replaced in the MKIII, adorns the MKII A versions for the last time. This makes the MKII A a desirable Healey, in fact: it is one of the most sought-after Healeys. This one has the beautiful classic looks of the earlier Healeys combined with the comfort of the later MKIIIs.

This MKII A Healey has been in the hands of the same owner for decades. The car was completely restored by him in the early 1990s. After that, the Healey was carefully maintained and has proven itself on various beautiful trips abroad. The engine was also made suitable for use with unleaded petrol at the time. The condition of both the paintwork and the interior are still exceptionally good after all these years and the bottom of the Healey (provided with a reinforced chassis during the restoration) is in the body color as it should be. The fits of the body parts are very good. Proof that a professional worked on this. The car also stands out because of its beautiful 15-inch 72-spoke wire wheels, Moto-Lita leather sports steering wheel, a 'Works' gear lever with overdrive switch, Securon multi-point belts, a fire extinguisher and a VDO vacuum meter. Under the hood we find an electric cooling fan, an aluminum valve cover, a high output (Flame Thrower) coil and various other upgrades.

A photo album of the restoration is available. This Healey is in very good condition.
