Description

Registration number: PM-24-99

A left-hand drive Aston Martin DB2, originally delivered in the Netherlands, is a rarity. This specific model is even more special thanks to unique factory options, including a sunroof, an enlarged rear window, and three SU carburetors instead of the usual two. This makes it an exceptional example, practically one of a kind.

*Concours Winner
*
After its delivery in the Netherlands, this DB2 was exported to the United States, where it spent considerable time in showrooms. This contributed to the car remaining in very good condition. In 1967, an owner took the car to the United Kingdom to participate in a Concours d'Elegance, where the Aston won first prize in its class. The car eventually returned to the U.S. and continued to be a consistent winner in concours competitions.

*Restored to Perfection
*
In the 1970s, this DB2 underwent a complete restoration aimed at perfection. A later owner described the restoration as a process where an already beautiful car was improved to the highest standard. The body is therefore in fantastic condition, and the interior reflects the same high quality. In 2009, the original engine, as confirmed by the Heritage Certificate, was fully overhauled at a cost of $22,500. This engine runs smoothly and delivers impressive performance thanks to the triple SU carburetors. This Aston has the correct details, and the gearbox, transmission, and chassis are all in perfect order, contributing to the ultimate driving experience.

*Extensive Documentation
*
This DB2 comes with extensive documentation, including a Heritage Certificate, original manuals, and invoices. Photos of the history and restorations provide a detailed view of this exceptional example.

*History of the Aston Martin DB2
*
The DB2 was the first Aston Martin model to be produced in larger numbers, although this was still limited to just 411 cars, of which only 306 were coupes. Built between 1950 and 1953, this model was a pioneer in the sports car world. Equipped with a 2.6-liter six-cylinder engine designed by W.O. Bentley and an advanced chassis, the DB2 proved its strength by achieving first and second place at Le Mans in 1950, followed by a third place in 1951.
