Description

In my opinion, the Series IV is the Spider to have – the perfect swan song for Alfa Romeo's beloved roadster. While earlier models certainly have their charm, the Series IV manages to keep all the classic looks but with a cleaner, more modern finish and a more user-friendly drive.

Gone are the bulky black rubber bumpers of the Series III, replaced with body-colored bumpers that integrate beautifully into the design. The rear end is sleeker too, ditching the rubber tail spoiler for a much more elegant silhouette that nods back to the original Duetto's timeless lines.

Inside, the updates continued. A refined dashboard layout, higher-quality materials, and improved heating and ventilation make it a more comfortable place to be – especially on longer drives. Oh, and by the way, let's not forget the added convenience of electric windows, electric door mirrors, more comfortable seats with better upholstery.

Under the bonnet, the familiar 2.0L Twin Cam engine is a joy to use, but here it's paired with Bosch Motronic fuel injection, ensuring smoother starts and more reliable performance compared to the carburetted models. Suspension tweaks and improved braking add a touch of refinement without sacrificing that sporty Alfa feel.

As you can see, this example is truly stunning – finished in a wonderful white with an immaculately preserved interior, this car is a testament to its low mileage and careful ownership. The paintwork is as sharp as you'd expect for such a well-kept car, and it drives every bit as beautifully as it looks.

She comes with all the hallmarks of a well-preserved classic: her original tools, manuals, and service history are intact, and she's ready to be enjoyed right away.

Delivered new in Germany as a present for the chaps wife, who enjoyed looking at her, although hardly ever used her unless it was warm and sunny (not often seen in Northern Germany apparently).

She was returned to England and registered here, where she has been looked after by very well known Alfa specialists.

A true Italian roadster that delivers the perfect mix of vintage charm and modern usability – an absolute delight to drive, and a cracking addition to any collection!
