Description

Welcome to Oldie Point!
We are always looking for classic cars!
We look forward to your offer!

Alfa Romeo debuted in 1925 as a concept of the brilliant engineer Vittorio Jano and was one of the most powerful and sporty cars before the Second World War. These cars won many races and Alfa engineers tried to push the boundaries with advanced technology. The basis for the 6C was the successful P2 Grand Prix car. The Alfa Romeo 6C 2500, the last street-legal built 6C, was introduced in 1938 as the successor to the 6C 2300. After a few hundred examples were produced by 1945, production was resumed after the war. The 6C 2500 was equipped with independent suspension, better, hydraulic brakes, sporty steering and a simple and smooth steering column gearshift. The engine was the last version of the "Six" developed specifically for racing. The 90 hp engine was good for about 155 km/h. Most 6C cars were delivered as chassis and fitted with a bespoke bodywork chosen by the wealthy buyer and manufactured by specialist coachbuilders such as James Young, Zagato, Touring Superleggera or Pininfarina. During these years, Pininfarina was at the height of his creative powers and freely experimented with design in search of new solutions. His design was therefore very popular with royal families and film stars. As a convertible by Pininfarina, only 137 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 were produced.

We now have the special honour and pleasure to present to you here an Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Sport Pininfarina Cabriolet from 1947. It was first registered in Lugano, Switzerland, and during this first period the engine was already changed. In the mid-1970s, the car came to the Düsseldorf car dealership, where it waited patiently for restoration. In 1999, the car came into the possession of the highly acclaimed restorer Norbert Kempkes from Neuss and, after his "nut-and-bolt" restoration, the car won the "Best of show" award at the Essen Motor Show 2009. A few years later, the Alfa was bought at an international auction by the current owner and has since been driven impeccably and with great enthusiasm at several classic car events. The vehicle is still in an excellently restored condition and is accompanied by comprehensive (photo) documentation, a valuation report, a FIVA Identity Card and a historical registration in Austria.
