Italian Classic Cars for Sale
Italy has produced some of the most famous cars in the world. Among those regarded as the best Italian classic cars are Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maserati and Alfa Romeo whose very names stand for the Italian classic car.
Italian classic cars as an expression of lifestyle
An impressive car speaks much about the lifestyle of its owner and Italian classic cars do it spectacularly. The word ‘exotic’ is often applied to many Italian classic cars which speak of wealth, taste and power with ‘wow factor’ styling. They seldom fail to illicit strong emotional responses wherever they go.
Italian classic cars in the Movies
Italian classic cars have featured in many movies. The original version of The Italian Job features a Lamborghini Miura driven through the Alps. Ferraris Testarossa and Daytona featured in the original Miami Vice TV series and the big screen version. In The Graduate Dustin Hoffman drove a red Alfa Romeo Duetto. Scent of a Woman has a scene where Al Pacino test drives a red Ferrari. Sylvester Stallone in Rocky IV drives a black Lamborghini. The list is long and features many Italian classic cars.
Some of the biggest names and models of Italian classic cars
Without doubt the names Lamborghini and Ferrari are at the top of marques famous for producing classics. When Lamborghini introduced the Countach in 1971 it was the fastest and most outrageously styled Italian supercar ever produced. Ferrari has produced many of the top Italian classic cars ever built but one of them holds the record for the most expensive car ever sold by auction. This is a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, without doubt one of the most beautiful and rare Italian classic cars. Other makes such as Alfa Romeo and Maserati have produced beautiful examples of the Italian classic car. Maserati uses luxury, sports and style as their tagline. The name is still synonymous with Italian classic cars and the Ghibli, still in production, caused a stir when introduced in 1967. The car combined elegance, speed and luxury motoring in a true supercar. Alfa Romeo has produced everything from beautiful exotic roadsters such as the 1930 6C 1750 GS to everyday saloons like the Giulia that were so popular with Italian police in the 1960s. In between are a number of medium to higher priced sports cars such as the Alfetta, Spider Veloce and GTV.
