The RenaultSport Clio V6 is a rare gem in the hot hatch segment, celebrated for its audacity and charm. Unlike its front-wheel-drive Clio siblings, this car radically re-imagined the formula by adopting a mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout, making it more akin to a supercar than a traditional hatchback. Powered by a 3.0-litre V6 engine, borrowed and tuned from the Laguna, it produces around 230bhp. The engine placement behind the driver dramatically alters the car's dynamics, delivering an exhilarating driving experience but requiring careful handling, especially at the limit. Paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, the Clio V6 achieves 0-60 mph in approximately 6.2 seconds and boasts a top speed of about 147 mph. Visually, the Clio V6 stands out with its aggressive wide-body kit, flared wheel arches, and enlarged air intakes, signalling its performance credentials. Its muscular stance is further enhanced by bespoke alloy wheels and a lowered suspension. Inside, the cabin features sporty touches, such as bolstered seats and aluminium accents, but retains the Clio's functional simplicity. Despite its undeniable allure, the Clio V6 was criticized for its hefty weight and challenging handling, often described as tail-happy. Launched in 2001 the Renaultsport Clio was based on the Clio Mk. II although it shared very little with its cousin. Originally registered on 5th July 2002 this Clio V6 is one of only 256 manufactured for the UK market. It presents in fabulous condition and has Trophy Cup wheels (these are very rare), fitted with Yokohama tyres, in addition to this the brakes have also been upgraded. KW V3 shocks with upgraded top mounts, Trophy Cup rear spoiler, bespoke exhaust system, bucket seats are all fitted, the period Trophy-style livery perhaps the icing on the cake, this is certainly a special Renault. Capable of good track performance, the 3.0 litre 24 valve, V6 engine produces 227bhp this Clio V6 is also road legal and will certainly attract admiring glances.
