2000 BMW Z3 / California 250 GT SWB Replica by Parker

Based on a BMW Z3 this is a California 250GT SWB evocation built by Parker. Only 38 were built with the Z3 being the base car in all cases. It has the correct 3 louvres in the side cut outs & also the recessed bonnet air scoop which differentiated the original short wheel base cars from the LWB examples.
With only 57 of the originals being built, this is a car that will really catch the eye. With modern day mechanics and reliability this 250 GT Replica is a great driving car with plenty of perfomance given the light weight of the body. It is loaded with period detailing, creating a truly distinguished piece of replica work. The exterior is metallic grey. Inside is tan leather with period style bucket seats. The hood is of course electric from the original Z3 with the switch hidden in the period style flip open ash tray.
The original California 250GT was built from 1957-1963 with only 57 vehicles built. This is a replica built by Parker in York and is based on a BMW Z3. With all the instrumentation changed to mimic the original. The speedometer was zeroed at build & now reads just under 6000 miles.
Driving it back from storage west of London I was amazed at the reactions of other road users & the number of people who pulled alongside to take photographs. It really looks the part & does not have a £10million price tag.
