1955 | Triumph TR 2

The TR2 was introduced in 1953 as Triumph’s bid to capture some of the growing sports car market in the U.S.A. A total of 8.636 TR2s were built between August 1953 and September 1955, a large fraction of which were exported to the US. The TR2 is widely recognized as the car that “started it all” for Triumph. The TR2's combination of lively performance, good looks, and reasonable price made it a strong seller and led to the very successful TR line as we know it today.

This example is a rare Belgian built TR2, shipped as a CKD kit from the Triumph works to Impéria in Nessonvaux. This company built approximately 500 examples for the Benelux and German market, and also created the very rare Francorchamps fixed head version (only 22 examples made). This particular TR2 only had 3 owners from new, and has always been registered in Belgium. The car is professionally restored in 2009 and is still in magnificent condition. The last owner bought the car in 2010 and used it for several long trips to several European and British destinations and kept the car incredibly well maintained. It's one of the best TR2's I have driven so far, and it looks absolutely gorgeous in this colour combination. Besides the fitted black powder coated wire wheels with slightly wider tyres, the original set of white painted steel wheels (with chromed hub caps) is also included. The car has a beautifully made red softtop and well fitting side screens, and also comes with a full tonneau cover.
