History - The Rolls Royce Silver Shadow was produced from 1965 to 1976, and the Silver Shadow II from****1977 to 1980. The combined model run was 30,057 cars manufactured. In 1977, the model was renamed the Silver Shadow II in recognition of several major changes, most notably rack and pinion steering; modifications to the front suspension improved handling markedly. Externally, the bumpers were changed from chrome to alloy and rubber starting with the late 1976 Silver Shadows.

This RHD example with chassis number: SRH 35847 was ordered by Mr Bill Taylor of the Royal Yacht Club in St Helier, Jersey in June 1978 and was processed through the official Distributor St Helier Garages Ltd. The car was ordered free of the UK 15% VAT valid for the period. The service history is fairly comprehensive with service stamps in the schedule up to 63,233 miles. It’s then backed up with 9 UK MOT certificates from with most of them completed around the Crew area from 78,417 miles up to 79,052 miles. The car finds its way being exported to Germany in early 2018 showing just 86,828 miles where it remains today with a current German Historical registration. These cars offer ridiculous luxury for a ridiculous low price and, once tried you will be truly converted.

Exterior – The detailed Rolls-Royce Assembly Sheets confirm that this car was originally ordered in the refined color of Willow Gold (paint code 9510180), complemented by a Dark Brown Everflex roof and Sundym Glass all around. Over the years, some additional paint has been applied, and while there are a few minor blemishes upon close inspection, they have been touched up. Overall, the car continues to make a splendid impression. Recently, both rear wing sills have been treated, giving the car a refreshed look. Additionally, it features a chrome badge bar, adding a touch of classic elegance for those who appreciate such details.

Interior – The original owner, Mr. Bill Taylor, selected classic color combinations from the extensive options offered by Rolls-Royce. The interior features Off-White (VM 3997) Magnolia leather, complemented by a Light Fawn (BE 135) headlining and Cumberland Stone (44) carpeting. All elements remain in wonderful condition, reflecting the car's mileage. Recent interior updates include a new air conditioning compressor, ensuring comfortable driving in hot weather. Both rear footrests are in place, ready to pamper new rear passengers. This vehicle epitomizes the luxury and comfort of armchair driving at its finest.

Engine & Transmission – This well-maintained Rolls-Royce boasts a thorough service history, with numerous service stamps and UK MOT certificates, as well as German TÜV certificates, verifying its accurate mileage of 89,829 miles. A recent oil and filter change, completed in July 2024, ensures the car is in excellent condition for its next custodian. Under the bonnet, everything presents beautifully, with the expensive bonnet liner still in wonderful original condition. The engine runs ultra-smoothly, a testament to the diligent servicing that these exceptional cars require.

Wheels, Tyres & Brakes – Avon 235/70 R15 whitewall tyres offer plenty of tread and there is more than ample stopping power on brakes that will pass a German TÜV roadworthiness test. A keen eye will spot one non-matching hub cap which was lost during a recent appropriate trip to Goodwood
