The Pierce-Arrow Model B from 1930 is an iconic example of the luxury and technical refinement that defined the American brand Pierce-Arrow during its existence from 1901 to 1938. Alongside Packard and Peerless, Pierce-Arrow was considered one of the "3 P's of American Motordom" in the 1920s, representing the pinnacle of American luxury automotive design.

In 1929, Pierce-Arrow introduced a completely new inline 8-cylinder engine to replace the highly respected 6-cylinder engine, which had successfully represented the brand since the Brass Era. The new engine, producing 125 hp, delivered 25% more power despite having a smaller displacement. It also featured smooth, vibration-free operation, making it a technological marvel for its time. This innovation contributed to Pierce-Arrow's most successful year ever, with nearly 10,000 cars sold in 1929. This momentum carried into 1930 with models like the Model B.

The Model B was part of a lineup that included the A, B, and C models, with the Model B serving as the mid-range option. Its design was similar to the Model 133 from 1929, and both shared the same base engine. However, the Model B offered a choice of wheelbase lengths, making it appealing to a broader audience.

The car features a closed "6-window" design and a luxurious interior with velvet seats and a wooden dashboard. Its stylish wire-spoked wheels and headlights integrated into the fenders—characteristic of Pierce-Arrow—enhance its elegance and exclusivity.

While 1929 was a record-breaking year, the stock market crash of the same year and the subsequent Great Depression posed significant challenges for Pierce-Arrow. Sales plummeted, and despite innovations like a V12 engine and the futuristic Silver Arrow model, the brand could not survive.

The Pierce-Arrow Model B from 1930 remains a rare and sought-after collector's item. Its unique combination of style, craftsmanship, and technical excellence makes it a symbol of the golden age of American luxury cars and a lasting tribute to a brand that pushed the boundaries of design and performance.

Imported from Alaska, USA, in 2010, this car has been well-preserved and improved over the years. It runs well, although the tires are old. It combines top-of-the-line design and luxury in an exceptional vehicle.
