1954 | Oldsmobile Super 88

Rare opportunity to acquire an Oldsmobile Super 88 Convertible 1954 from a classic car collection. Only 5.790 pieces were built, today maybe 120 pieces still exist!

This mild custom is equipped with a 324 cui Rocket engine (5.3 L V8) and a 4-speed "Hydramatic Super Drive" automatic transmission. General Motors built in the same reliable technology as in the top models from Cadillac, with the difference, however, that Oldsmobile models were a bit "lively" to move. The manufacturer therefore advertised with slogans such as

"More Horsepower per dollar than any other new car" or
"Hydra-Matic Drive - No gears to shift ... no clutch to press!"

And the advances in technology and performance through rocket projectiles were also illustrated in advertisements. Visually striking for this design period, the rocket-shaped taillights and the panoramic window design. The new price for this classic at  the time was 5,290 USD.

Contrary to the very striking paintwork, the "two tone" interior in vinyl tuck'n'roll style, white electr. top and the wide white wall tires add a very harmonious note and thus ensure an unbeatable contrast. Incidentally, the hubcaps come from an Oldsmobile Fiesta from 1956.

Generally speaking, this is an older restoration in a very good and well-kept condition with few signs of use. Only the original radio and speedometer are without function.

Actually the "Olds" is having german historic homologation and TÜV. 

Spare wheel in the trunk, instructions for use (shop manual), Alpine radio (USB) installed in the glove compartment, including a subwoofer under the seat, and receipts from repairs are also included.
