The R107 and C107 were built to exacting engineering standards, unsurprisingly, and with a more than subtle air of sophistication. What marks these streamlined sports cars out from the rest is the comfortable rear seats, sublime power delivery from the larger engine models and of course, the legendary Stuttgart build-quality. These imposing pillarless coupes have now become rare and prices are rising.

This 450 SLC is presented in the classic colour combination of Light Ivory with a Palomino interior and is in sharp condition throughout. There are invoices on file for circa £6,500 worth of work carried out at the SL Shop since 2022, works included some structural repairs to the rear chassis legs, sills and floor pan. The SL Shop also changed the timing chain and tensioner, replaced the tyres and did the wheel alignment, replaced some subframe bushes, adjusted the steering box, replaced a gearbox bush, replaced a brake caliper and bled the braking system and flushed the fuel system then refreshed it. There are bills on file for various other works elsewhere, including a new water pump, oil cooler and distributor, all since Summer 2023. The car is now in very nice condition and is ready to be enjoyed by its next owner with the knowledge it has been worked on by the right people and had various issues rectified in recent times.
