1961 | Mercedes-Benz 190 SL

Sporty, elegant, safe and comfortable - with these characteristics, the 190 SL conquered a whole new circle of enthusiastic fans of sporty driving. Mercedes-Benz unveiled the prototype of the 190 SL (W 121) in February 1954 at the International Motor Sports Show in New York, together with the production version of the “gullwing” 300 SL.

In March 1955, just over a year after the premiere in New York, the production version was on display at the Geneva Motor Show. Like its big brother, the spectacular 300 SL “Gullwing”, the 190 SL was also one of the most sought-after dream cars of its time. A total of 25,881 examples were sold up to 1963.

This beautiful SL was purchased through Arthur Bechtel Classic Motors in 2014 and has been in a collection ever since. The vehicle has been completely restored and an expert opinion from Classic Data is available, which certifies an overall condition of grade 1. It is a German vehicle which was registered to its first owner on 12.04.1961.

The vehicle is being sold on behalf of a customer and is privately registered, i.e. VAT cannot be shown.
