Descrizione
This Mercedes Benz 300 S convertible of the series W188 is one of 203 produced convertibles. Coming from a very significant collection, this convertible was last conserved in 2016.
The eye-catching paint job in red and the exterior soft top in a black tarpaulin make for astonished passers-by. "Thumbs up" becomes routine for you as the new owner. The interior impresses with brown leather and dark burl wood adorning the doors and dashboard.
As part of a first-class restoration, the convertible received, among other things, a new paint job in red, new leather in brown and also a new engine. The original transmission was retained.
The 300 S Cabriolet is in very good condition. Currently it is in a preserved condition, but can be made ready to drive at any time. So nothing stands in the way of sunny trips, rallies and Concours d'Elegance of the world class.

History of the series
The Mercedes W 188 series was presented to the public at the Paris Motor Show in October 1951. The coupés, cabriolets and roadsters were derived from the W 186 series saloon and had a wheelbase that was 15 cm shorter than the latter. They were the last Daimler-Benz models to be built on a chassis.
With a total of 560 examples of the 300 S and 200 of the 300 Sc, the W 188 series is rarer than the 300 SL (W 198). Not for nothing was the W 188 over the entire construction period the most expensive model series of Mercedes.
In 1955, the model series was then revised and renamed the 300 Sc. Both versions, the 300 S and the 300 Sc, are among the most exclusive Mercedes-Benz passenger car models of the post-war period and today, along with the 300 SL, are particularly sought-after collectors' vehicles.
