This is without doubt the very best Jaguar XK140 we have ever had the pleasure of selling. This highly upgraded car was purchased by its recent owner for £190,000 in 2007 after having a fully body off restoration with J.D Classics. Since then the recent owner has spent over £100,000 on further upgrades and maintenance of the very highest of standards. The car has covered 7500 miles since its full nut and bolt rebuild and has successfully toured the UK and overseas, taking part in rallies to include the 2008 Celtic HERO, 2010 Rallye des Alpes, 2009 and 2011-2014 Scottish Malts. Huge expense has gone into preparation ahead of the various events, and some expensive upgrades that without doubt ensure this is one of the best driving examples we’ve experienced.

Since a truly top class restoration, the XK140 was superbly modified and upgraded and boasts and impressive specification. The engine was rebuilt to a J.D Sport rally specification and expensive J.D Sport upgrades included a 5 speed gearbox, free flow oil pump, limited slip differential, front and rear brake discs, brake servo, alternator, front and rear suspension upgrades, handmade stainless steel exhaust manifold and exhaust system, ignition system, high flow radiator, water pump, burr walnut dashboard and power steering. The chassis was powder coated, the chrome work Nickel painted and essentially every component on the vehicle either new or re-conditioned.

After initial purchase in 2007 the recent owner began further upgrading the car and as part of the £100,000 plus of expenditure since restoration, spent a further £50,000 plus with J.D Classics. The engine was further upgraded to J.D Sport high torque specification with modified carburettors, cold air ducting and specialist powder coating, specialist balancing of the crankshaft, flywheel and clutch and J.D Sport valves and cam buckets. The BHP has reportedly been raised to 210. The XK was also fitted with a J.D Sport alloy radiator, wider rim wheels and tyres, more expensive J.D Sport seats, Halogen headlamps and a Brantz rally clock. The majority of servicing and maintenance since then has been carried out by XK specialists Twyford Moors.

Since the very impressive rebuild the XK140 has covered most of its 7500 miles on long distance touring events and trips. The car is truly exceptional and of the very highest of standards. The bodywork, paintwork and chrome are beautiful, the chassis looks new, the upholstery wonderfully finished, the hood is perfect and the engine bay is quite simply exquisite. Panel gaps are top class, panels are perfectly straight, the bodywork is exactly as expected having had a rebuild at this level of cost. Mechanically this is a highly upgraded car and it is very special to drive. On the road this has to be the very best XK140 we've offered to the market, every aspect of the driving experience top class. The car is mechanically sensational, and the invoice file clearly demonstrates this has been maintained to the highest of standards.

Whilst upgraded to the best of the best, the car is a matching numbers engine car. The XK was manufactured on the 24th January 1957 and distributed from Jaguar Cars New York. The XK140 SE was the supplied to its first owner, a Leonard Dain in Dallas, Texas. Having spent most of its life in the USA, the XK was brought over to the UK ahead of its full body off rebuild. Since completion the car has had just one UK owner and the car comes with a comprehensive file detailing the rebuild and all maintenance, FIVA registration card, Heritage Certificate and MOT's. If looking for the very best, this is the car to buy.

Please note the registration mark is not included in the sale.
